Can someone tell me why my profile pic stays the same after I changed it?

I pressed save changes but when I refresh it goes back to the one I had before

@The-Darkin-Blade Hi there! By doing a little searching on the web, I found that our forum software (called NodeBB) doesn't allow profile pictures larger than 256 KB. If you try to upload a larger photo, then it might abort.
In the bottom-right-hand of the page, I get an error telling me that my file is larger than the maximum allowed size of 256 KB.
Could this have been the problem? I seem to remember that I had an issue with this and had to resize my photo. Do you have an image-editing program? (I use gimp or the command line to resize images.
)
Note: Remember the cool fact about why \(256\) is so important and common? \(256 = 2^8,\) which is the number of numbers that a computer byte can store. (A byte consists of \(8\) bits, each of which can store a \(0\) or a \(1.\) )

@The-Darkin-Blade Sometimes it takes awhile before the "Upload" button lets you click on it. This happened to me with some pictures but not others. The first time I tried to change my profile picture just now, the "Upload" button was not active (light), and I clicked out while I was waiting, causing me to lose the window. The second time, I waited for quite a long time without clicking, and after awhile, the "Upload" button showed up. I'm not sure why this happens with only some images but not others.
