Absolute Value

I was doing homework and I got a problem with absolute value
Ex. 7 6
so since it would be 1 does this make the 1 inside negative?
thanks
@readingallday Not necessarily. If you got 1, the 1 inside would still be positive! The thing with absolute value is that if you got 1, then the value would become positive.
TL;DR, absolute value is always positive. Hopefully, I interpreted your question right. If not, please let me know.

@readingallday Absolute value is a number's distance from 0. This is why positive numbers stay positive, and negative numbers become positive in these problems, as we are just counting how many units a number is from zero. Ex: (7 is 7 units away from 0 & 7 is also just 7 units away from 0 but in opposite directions).
