Module 0 Week 3 Challenge Q19
-
Hey. This is about the Week 3 Challenge of Module 0. In Problem 19, why would the probability that it rained and that you wore a poodle shirt be 20%*40%? I think that any percentage below 20% could work because you don't know if it's going to rain when wearing a poodle shirt. (Here's what I mean: let's assume there are 100 days in total, and so there would be 40 days in which you would wear the poodle shirt and 20 days in which it would rain. How do you know that the number of overlapping days is 8 and not 5 or 10?)

@fantasticcrow in these sample 100 days, there are 40 random days in which you wear the poodle shirt. Of those 40 days, there would still be the same 20% of (random) days that rain (and theoretically it would be exactly 20%), because you don't know when it is going to rain and it doesn't affect whether you decide to wear the poodle shirt or not on each day. Thus, there are, theoretically, 20% the 40 days you wear a poodle shirt will rain, or 8 days. Hope that helps, even though I have no idea what the problem is.

@lucky_ducky1 thanks! you gave a great explanation.
