Illusion
-
Uh why is that?
-
Hi TSS!
It's so neat how our eyes can play tricks on us! Both of the squares A and B are indeed the same shade of grey.
In this video, they prove this by erasing all of the surrounding image besides the two squares.
One possible reason for this weird illusion is that the brain expects there to be a shadow on the square B, cast by the cylinder, and then overcompensates the color of B to be lighter than it is.
Happy Learning!

@po That's really cool! Do you remember me from your weekly Livestream? I'm Kyle, the one that asked you what do you think is an easy or hard question.
-
@placidmacaw-0 I remember you! And Prof. Loh replied something to the effect of, "We should do the hard-easy questions, as long as they are both easy and hard, but not just easy."
-
whaaat? That sounds deep.
-
@TSS-Graviser It's possible to learn math well and deeply without repetitive exercises that cover the same material ad infinitum! Once you have learned a concept and it has been moved to the "easy" pile of things you know, it's not essential to come back to it in order to practice. Instead, don't be scared to move on instead to something you don't have a good grasp of yet.
-
@debbie not just the easy questions and not only the hard ones.
-
@placidmacaw-0 Yes! That was a good question, and it wasn't easy or hard!
-
Looking forward to the weekly Livestream in Romania! Is there going to be one?
-
Hold up Prof. Loh does livestreams in other countries?

-
Dang that's cool. Hope I'll be good enough for that one day.
