What's the difference between magic squares and sudoku?
While magic squares are similar to sudoku, there's one key difference. In magic squares, the rows, columns, and diagonals all add up to the same number. In sudoku, only the rows and columns add up to the same amount. Diagonals do not matter on sudoku.

I remember at school we needed to solve a 4x4 magic square with a given row/column/diagonal sun of a certain number and 0 digits... it’s easy if you remember tho
