Can someone help me try to understand what the Exterior Angle Theorem is more clearly? I'm kinda confused.

The exterior angle theorem states that the sum of the measure of two angles in a triangle equals the measure of the exterior angle of the third. Here is a quick diagram I made:
This is because the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180, and \( d = 180-c. \) However, \( a+b+c = 180\), so \(a+b=180-c\). Since both equal \(180-c\), they must be equal. -
