We should add subtitles to Ask Math Anything
-
This is more of a suggestion than a demand.
If we can add subtitles, it can make things quite easier.
When I use auto translate, it doesn’t work for words like “Po-Shen Loh”, which it translates to “potion low”.
There can be also subtitles in different languages, to make it easier for people around the world who don’t speak English.
Thanks! -
@RZ923 Thank you for the suggestion! I wonder if this is an automatic feature we can turn on in Youtube. I will have to find out. If so, then that would be great.
-
@debbie Maybe we have to add subtitles ourselves?
-
@RZ923 That is after the livestream, during it you have to turn it on yourself and just accept the YouTube generated subtitles.
-
@The-Darkin-Blade Yup
-
@RZ923 That would be a very tedious process though. People might make mistakes or purposely troll. I suggest just going with the youtube subtitles. Even though the translations are not always on point, Professor Loh is very clear and the subtitles are usually correct. For the daily challenge videos, I doubt that Professor Loh's team is going to spend hours adding subtitles themselves and they probably wouldn't trust people like us to do it. I'd say that going for an automatic subtitle generator is the way to go, though I personally don't care if there are subtitles or not because again, Professor Loh is very clear. Anyways, I could see how some visual learners might tend to need it though.

Yea even tho Prof. Loh's accent was funky to me at first I got used to it. Also he talks quite slow and loud so that it feels like he's practiced it a lot before.
-
@The-Darkin-Blade It's the art of public speaking
-
@The-Darkin-Blade yep, once you get use to the accent it’s okay
-
@The-Darkin-Blade Yep same here. After a few days, I got used to it. Actually, I kinda like it now.

@CoherentMango me too
