      I don’t think this makes sense I mean I can’t really understand it.
      Sum of roots(z’s)=-9

      Sum of retroprical of roots x’s

      Does anyone of you understand it and thanks.

        @Bolun-Zhang So from what I see, we divided by x^2 in order to get from the first step to the second step.

        Now, we made the substitution that z = x^2. Therefore, by Vieta's Theorem, we know that the sum of the roots of the 4th equation is -9/1=-9.

        Now, we want to know what the sum of the roots of 1/x is(Hint: look at what substitution we made.)

        Hopefully I interpreted it right, and happy mathing!
