If 4 bees can make 4 honeys in 4 minutes, how long does it take 8 bees to make 8 honeys?

These types of problems really make you do a double take, it's soooo tempting to see 4 4 4 and then go, aha, 8 8 ... 8!

Here's a detailed solution: since we doubled the amount of bees, the honey will be made twice as fast. But we also doubled the amount of honey that needs to be made, so the honey will be made twice as slow.

Twice as fast multiplied by twice as slow gives you the same time, so 4 minutes!

If 4 bees make 4 "honeys" in 4 minutes, 8 bees can make 8 "honeys" in that same time because you multiply 2 to each (don't multiply the time, because that wouldn't make a lot of sense and it's irrelevant). Since they take the same time, the answer is 4 minutes.
